In this class students will be introduced to the basic skills of creating a small stone sculpture using a combination of power and hand tools. We will start with rough chunks of stone removing material until we achieve their final form and then learn techniques for adding details and multiple finishing textures.

Our first project will be focused on building an open source device that will allow us to recycle PET soda bottles into filament to be used in future projects. Once we have built this machine, we hope to offer an opportunity to our community to directly engage in plastic recycling at the local level.
